Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on the pelvic floor muscles, which are responsible for a variety of functions.  These muscles support the pelvic organs, assist in bowel and bladder control, core stability and strength and they contribute to sexual appreciation.  A person might be referred to pelvic floor PT to treat constipation, chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, urinary leaking or other difficulties with urination or bowel movements.

You might be surprised to learn just how many conditions pelvic therapy can help with!  Many women and children suffer from uncomfortable and sometimes disabling conditions, not knowing that there are treatments available.  We understand that these conditions are often delicate topics to approach, so we strive to let women know there is help for them and their children.  Conditions we treat include but are not limited to:

Urinary and fecal incontinence

Urinary frequency/urgency

Pelvic pain

Endometriosis

Pain with intercourse

Vulvodynia & vulvar pain

Tailbone pain

Pregnancy back/pelvic pain

Diastasis recti

Pediatric bowel/bladder dysfunction

Constipation

Postpartum pelvic floor rehab

Pelvic organ prolapse

Nighttime bedwetting
